Air + water, floating waves and a gentle breeze, the knight of cups invites us to connect to the idea of allowing ourselves to be carried.

When you are standing in the ocean and see a wave roll up to you, do you brace yourself with all you’ve got to try to stand your ground, or can you let yourself be carried by the waves? How would it feel for you to let yourself flow with the current, instead of trying to fight against it?

In calm waters it might be easy for us to let go of controle, but the knight of cups is inviting us to do the same thing when it gets hard, when the waves come crashing, when everything feels wrong and overwhelming. Because, when you let yourself be carried, there is always that magical moment of weightlessness. That moment where you don’t have to move, because you are being moved, being completely supported.

When you allow yourself to be carried, it doesn’t mean that life gets less hard, or the current gets less strong, it means that you are no longer making it harder on yourself because you can unclench your fists and you no longer feel the need to brace yourself.
